barCamps are great fun; I was at the last one at Google and am now running the next one in my companies (GCap Media) offices in Leicester Square. Registration opens next Thursday (27th March) at 11am from our eventWax site and basically things are going to be a lot of fun! Of course I would say that but we’re not the second most interesting education event on upcoming.org for nothing!
Our interactive team is getting bigger by the month (with Simon Willison and Stuart Langridge amongst speakers attending) but we are at heart a radio company so we have a number of tricks up our sleeve to make this barCamp unique – lots more information on this to come in the upcoming weeks.
I also reckon we have picked the best possible time for the event to take place – with @media being the days before we hope that London will be buzzing with web folk all geared up to talk about the things they saw and heard while @media! So if you’re thinking of or are attending @media why not try signing up for barCamp too?? The accommodation will be free :>
Also confirmed for the event in that we are getting a backNetwork thanks to the people from http://www.madgex.com/ – I believe this is a first for London barCamps and having used them for d.Construct during the past few years I’m sure they will add to the community spirit and feeling around the event.
